Are you even a single person out there who never asked the question, “What could be so wrong that my iPhone so slow?” Most of the iPhone’s owners experience such problems as slower rates and performance that decrease while the phone is in use.

Here I list the common four reasons and how to solve them that may let your iPhone run slowly to help you decipher and deal with these lags.

Storage Overload

Another obvious cause of such a situation is the availability of the iPhone’s storage; if it is overloaded with applications and files. Running out of storage space on your device can really slow it down; especially when the available space is low. Some slow factors include a multitude of pictures, applications, and other miscellaneous files. To address this, the recommended actions include deleting one’s unnecessary files, eradicating unused apps, and subscribing to cloud storage.

Outdated Software

Old software is another reason that can make your iPhone so slow, therefore it is important to keep updating the iPhone software. Apple often comes up with new updates for iOS, which improves the speed of results and fixes problems. If you have not updated your iPhone to this version, you might find the functionality of your phone to have diminished. To solve this problem, go to Settings> General > Software update and check if your device has the latest downloaded software.

Background Apps

Background apps can also cause your iPhone to be slow since they use up your iPhone’s precious resources. To increase the performance, first, swipe the apps you don’t need in the multitasking tray at the bottom of the screen. Another setting that you could possibly consider turning off includes the background app refresh for apps that you do not want to be updating themselves constantly.

Battery Health

Finally, poor battery health can lead to such issues affecting the iPhone and making it incredibly slow. If it is severely degraded, then it could be that your iPhone restricts operation to conserve the battery. Open your Settings, go to Battery, and then Battery Health to assess your battery health and it’s recommended to have it replaced if necessary.

By fixing these problems, you increase your iPhone’s performance and get results from the annoyances that slow down your gadget.
